Hard Close Restrictions by Module

Prevent posting of batches to prior periods either globally or by Dynamics SL module. Grant users or groups access to override hard close restrictions.

Project Indirect Cost Reporting and Management

The new features store more information on actual and provisional data.

  • Supports multiple cost pools (fringe, overhead, material handling, G&A, etc.)
  • Monitoring of provisional versus actual
  • Provides supporting details used in requesting provisional rate adjustments
  • Adjustment process for the variance between Year to Date Provisional and Year to Date Actual Indirect Costs

 Project Flex Time Enhancements

Project Flex Time Business Portal time entry accepts multiple user invoice comments to provide customers with additional details on work performed.

 Service Series Pricing Enhancements

Dynamics SL 2011 FP1 will allow users to create multiple custom groups for Customers, Site ID’s and Inventory ID’s as well as special pricing updates with revision tracking.

 

 Office 365 Support

Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 FP1 introduces support for Office 265 SharePoint Online for DocShare and the routing of Attachments to SharePoint.

Web Services Enhancements

Web Services allows for the connection of custom or third party applications to Microsoft Dynamics SL using the latest technology.  Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 FP1 introduces two new web services for Project Time Entry and Project Expense Entry.  Both web services will support the document attach feature.

 

Business Analyzer (BA)

Business Analyzer is a Dashboard for Business decision makers that consumes SQL Server Reporting Services reports and can collaborate through Microsoft Lync.  BA deploys independent of the Microsoft Dynamics SL rich client.

The following is a listing of the type of queries that you can deploy using BA.

  • SSRS – SQL Server Reporting Services
  • RDL – Report Definition Language – Markup language used to develop SSRS Reports
  • KPI – Key Performance Indicator – Limited data, typically presents a quick view of data making the user aware of positive or negative status.

 Quick Query Enhancements

Building on the success of Quick Query, Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 FP1 increases the functionality of this highly popular feature by adding report generation and BA (Business Analyzer) integration.

  • Turn any Quick Query View into a SSRS report that Business Analyzer can use.
  • Report generation wizard creates and deploys Microsoft SQL Server reports that can be viewed in the Business Analyzer
  • Creates summary and detail reports that provide drill down capabilities
  • Creates links to Microsoft Dynamics SL screens to drill back to from within the report
