Microsoft Dynamics SL – Year End Update for 2018
Microsoft has released the 2018 Year End Updates for Microsoft Dynamics SL. The update includes changes for 1099 and W-2 reporting in order to comply with the 2018 tax year regulations. The update may be downloaded from Microsoft Customer Source.

1099 and W-2 Changes
Accounts Payable 1099s
Support for the new requirement to split out reporting Non-Employee Compensation reported in Box 7 from all other boxes. The 1099 Preview (03.730.00) report, the 1099 Forms (03.740.00) report and the Generate 1099 Electronic File (03.742.00) screen now contain options to print(generate) for all boxes, only Box 7 or all boxes except for Box 7.
Filing 1099 Forms: You can file 1099 forms electronically or on paper.

Payroll W-2s
No changes to the layout of the W-2 form or to the layout of the W-3 form were required for tax year 2018. Box 9 is now labeled Verification code on the plain paper forms.

RO Employee Optional record changes:
- Support the new box code 12 GG in positions 122-132 New box code 12 GG is used to report the Income from qualified equity grants under section 83(i)
- Support the new box code 12 HH in positions 133-143
- New box code 12 HH is used to report the Aggregate deferrals under section 83(i) elections
RU Total Optional record changes:
- Support the new box code 12 GG in positions 160-174
- New box code 12 GG is used to report the total amount of Income from qualified equity grants under section 83(i)
- Support the new box code 12 HH in positions 175-189
- New box code 12 HH is used to report the total amount of Aggregate deferrals under section 83(i) elections
