We have had three customers report an issue with releasing batches in the last 45 days. So far it has only been through the Release AP Batches screen.  It is possible that this error could occur in other Release Batches screens. All of the customers who reported this issue were running Microsoft Dynamics SL 6.5 SP1, SP2 or SP3.

SYMPTOMS:

The first batch releases without issue but subsequent batches return the error message as follows:

“System Message 12304 – 030400 is already running on this workstation. The process will be cancelled.”

All of the customers encountering this system message were printing batch control reports automatically on release.

RESOLUTION:

We have tracked the issue to a corrupt or outdated printer driver.  Updating the printer driver has resolved this issue in all reported instances to date.

Note: If you are using add-on products that are printer driver specific (e.g. MaxQ AP Laser Checks) be sure to test printing to confirm proper alignment of your add-on specific reports after updating the printer driver.
