From time to time I have a client ask me how they can spell check in Microsoft Dynamics SL.  In many of these cases the client is generating invoices and the invoices included comments from employee input. The input is generally from comments on Project Time and/or Expense entry.

Since these customers generally use Business Portal for employee input we point them to an application like IE Spell.  IE Spell is great for spell checking anything in an Internet Explorer browser.  Even better is that there is a free version.

While this is a great solution it does not cover all of the transactions that are input directly into the Dynamics SL’s rich client.  Think of all of the opportunities for misspelled words. From Order Management to AR Invoices to Service Dispatch.  Anywhere users input text there is a potential for misspelled words.  This is especially critical for customer facing documents (Quotes, Order Confirmations, Invoices, etc.). For those customer who like to use notes, spell checking can quickly become a must have.

Implementing Spell Check Anywhere (http://spellcheckanywhere.com/)  is a convenient way to insure proper spelling within Dynamics SL.  Users can configure the interface to display a Spell Check icon on all of their Windows applications or they can activate the spell check feature using the F11 hot key to spell check the text in focus.

Below is a screen shot of a Microsoft Dynamics SL notes screen showing the Spell Check Anywhere icon on the top.

IE Spell and Spell Check Anywhere are only two of a large number of spell checking solutions available.  I suggest you trial several products in order to find the solution that best fits your needs.
