I recently downloaded a new SL 2011 Systems Requirement guide as a result of the release of Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 FP1. The previous system requirements guide was last updated in 2/27/2011 so I expected to see some changes around the release of FP1 and I was not disappointed.
The updated system requirements includes support for Windows 8 Pro and Enterprise editions on the Client as well as Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012. The document is not clear if all builds of SL 2011 are compatible with Windows 8 but is does list a requirement for Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 FP1 in order to support Internet Explorer 9 or 10.
I highly suggest testing the SL Client on Windows 8 before rolling into production.
If you use Google or Bing to search for the SL 2011 System Requirements guide you are likely to find an old guide that does not include the updated Windows 8 support notation.
